Debunking the Debunkers: The Left’s Ukraine BS
26 Nov 2021
“I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine…” — President Trump in phone call to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky, 7/25/19
“On that call, [Trump] requested that President Zelensky investigate the widely debunked conspiracy theory that the Ukrainian government — and not Russia — was behind the hack of Democratic National Committee [dnc] computer network in 2016.” — House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment report, containing the word “debunked” 22 times, 12/16/19
“[F]ormer nsc senior director Fiona Hill … said the [Ukraine] election interference claim was a ‘fictional narrative’ peddled by Russian intelligence agencies.” — The Washington Post, 12/10/19
The only fictional narrative going on right now is the left’s attempt to stamp out all mention of Ukraine’s documented meddling in the 2016 election. With Rudy Giuliani signaling he’s got the goods — tweeting, “This is a smokescreen for the Obama-Biden Administration’s corruption … [and it] will soon be proven” — it’s cover-your-rear-end time for anyone involved in Ukraine’s efforts to tip the scale for Hillary in 2016.
That list of names is large, as is the list of those (and their kin) pocketing Ukraine cash. No wonder establishment Washington is in major meltdown mode, sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting, “Debunked! Debunked! Debunked!” They’re trying to hypnotize the public by sheer repetition of the word.
The left desperately hopes you won’t notice that the only actual collusion in 2016 was between the corrupt Democrats and corrupt Ukraine government officials (and corrupt shadow-government minions) to take down Donald Trump. You can tell by the Democrat hysteria about Ukraine that the truth poses a mortal threat to their coup:
“Debunked,” the New “Gravitas”
- “None of the 17 witnesses … testified that they were aware of any factual basis to support the allegation that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election; rather, multiple witnesses confirmed that these were false, debunked conspiracy theories.” — House Judiciary Committee impeachment report, 12/16/19
- “President Trump … has abused his power … by sabotaging a political opponent and endorsing a debunked conspiracy theory promoted by our adversary, Russia.” — House Judiciary Committee impeachment report, 12/16/19
- “Giuliani was spotted on the White House grounds on Friday [12/13/19] and on Monday [12/16/19], Trump retweeted several of his lawyer’s wild and unsubstantiated accusations about Biden and the previous government in Ukraine.” — Politico, 12/16/19

- “[A]t least three different but related conspiracy theories would warp and combine on the fringes of the internet, eventually coalescing around Ukraine’s supposed role in helping Trump’s 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton … Though all the individual theories have been debunked, each has contributed elements that have been cited by the President, as well as his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.” — nbc News, 10/3/19
- “In March, John Solomon, a conservative opinion contributor … began to gain traction with conservative media publications for a series of articles insinuating that the Biden family had been involved with a coverup that included the Vice President pressuring Ukraine’s president to fire a prosecutor who wanted to investigate the Biden family’s business connections in the country. The theory has been widely debunked.” — nbc News, 10/3/19
Ukraine: Coup Ground Zero
- “Publicly available — and irrefutable — evidence shows how senior Ukrainian government officials sought to influence the 2016 U.S. Presidential election in opposition to President Trump’s candidacy, and that some in the Ukrainian embassy in Washington worked with a Democrat operative to achieve that goal.” — Republican “Dissenting Views,” House Judiciary impeachment report, 12/16/19
- “Violating their own guidelines, the Democrats repeatedly redacted from the transcripts the name of Alexandra Chalupa, a contractor for the Democratic National Committee who worked with Ukrainian officials to collect dirt on the Trump campaign, which she provided to the dnc and the Hillary Clinton campaign.” — Rep. Devin Nunes, at Breitbart, 11/13/19
- “The right-wing activist group Judicial Watch recently obtained visitor logs placing Chalupa at the White House several times in 2015 … A photo of her at one of those meetings — standing next to a man that conservative news outlets have identified as [Eric Ciaramella] the official who blew the whistle on Trump’s interactions with Zelensky — has again placed Chalupa at the center of controversy.” — Politico, 11/12/19
- On February 18, 2014 protesters burned down [Ukraine then-president Viktor] Yanukovych’s office and found an alleged “black ledger” which showed that [Yanukovych’s] Party of Regions paid bribes and handouts worth $2 billion between 2008 and 2012. The ledger was handed over to nabu [National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine] and was not heard from again until the 2016 election, when it was used against Paul Manafort, according to Kyiv Post, 11/8/19
- “Documents confirm the dnc opposition researcher [Chalupa] attended at least one White House meeting with Ciaramella in November 2015. She visited the White House with a number of Ukrainian officials lobbying the Obama Administration for aid for Ukraine.” — Real Clear Investigations, 10/30/19
- “…Artem Sytnyk, Director of [nabu], who was tried and convicted in Ukraine for interfering in the U.S. Presidential election in 2016 … [said] ‘I was in charge of the investigation of their “black [ledger] accounting” records. We made the Manafort’s data available to general public.’” — The Blaze, 10/4/19
- “Manafort was ousted based on handwritten pieces of paper — the story would’ve never gone anywhere without nabu and [journalist/member of parliament Serhiy] Leshchenko’s vouching for the ledger’s authenticity. That’s as direct [foreign government involvement] as it gets.” — The Nation, 9/24/19
- “[Former Ukrainian embassy official Andrii] Telizhenko has … accuse[d] former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko of being directly involved in the effort to undermine Trump’s candidacy and has said that the ‘black ledgers’ … were forgeries.” — The Washington Post, 5/24/19
- “Nazar Kholodnytskyy, Ukraine’s chief anti-corruption prosecutor, told me … ‘Somebody kept this black ledger secret for two years and then showed it to the public and the U.S. media. It was extremely suspicious … it was the first call that something was going wrong and that there is some external influence in this case.’” — John Solomon, The Hill, 4/25/19
- “Kostiantyn Kulyk … Ukraine prosecutor … said that, shortly after Ukrainian authorities returned from [a January 2016 meeting with former Obama nsc, fbi, State Department, and doj officials] there was a clear message … ‘Yes, there was a lot of talking about needing help and then the ledger just appeared in public,’ he recalled. Kulyk said Ukrainian authorities had evidence that … former Obama White House counsel Gregory Craig also received money from Yanukovych’s party. But … ‘They just discussed Manafort. This was all and only what they wanted. Nobody else.’” — John Solomon, The Hill, 4/25/19
- “The other case raised at the January 2016 meeting [with Obama nsc, fbi and doj], Telizhenko said, involved Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company under investigation in Ukraine for improper foreign transfers of money … According to Telizhenko, U.S. officials told the Ukrainians they would prefer that Kiev drop the Burisma probe and allow the fbi to take it over. The Ukrainians did not agree. But then Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire Ukraine’s chief prosecutor [Viktor Shokin] in March 2016 … The Burisma case was transferred to nabu, then shut down.” — John Solomon, The Hill, 4/25/19
- “[dnc operative Alexandra] Chalupa’s actions appear to show that she was simultaneously working on behalf of a foreign government, Ukraine, and on behalf of the dnc and Clinton campaign, in an effort to influence not only the U.S. voting population but U.S. government officials.” — Sen. Chuck Grassley, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, letter to Rod Rosenstein “raising concerns over yet another instance of deficient enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act [fara] as it relates to the 2016 Presidential election,” 7/20/17
- “Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office … And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.” — “Ukrainian Efforts to Sabotage Trump Backfire: Kiev Officials Are Scrambling to Make Amends with the President-Elect [Trump] After Quietly Working to Boost Clinton,” Politico, 1/11/17
- “Ukraine’s [interior minister], Arsen Avakov, piled on [with other Ukrainian officials], trashing Trump on Twitter in July [2016] as a ‘clown’ and asserting that Trump is ‘an even bigger danger to the U.S. than terrorism.’” — Politico, 1/11/17
- “‘Oksana [Shulyar, aide to then-Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Chaly,] said that if I had any information, or knew other people who did, then I should contact Chalupa,’ recalled Telizhenko … ‘They were coordinating an investigation with the Hillary team on Paul Manafort with Alexandra Chalupa,’ he said, adding ‘Oksana was keeping it all quiet,’ but ‘the embassy worked very closely with’ Chalupa.” — Politico, 1/11/17
- “The prospect of Mr. Trump … becoming leader of the country’s biggest ally has spurred not just Leshchenko but Kiev’s wider political leadership to do something they would never have attempted before: intervene, however indirectly, in a U.S. election … Mr. Leshchenko and other political actors in Kiev say they will continue their efforts to prevent … candidate [Trump] … from reaching the summit of American political power.” — “Ukraine’s Leaders Campaign Against ‘Pro-Putin’ Trump,” in The [uk] Financial Times, 8/28/16
- “On Facebook, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the former prime minister, warned that Mr. Trump had ‘challenged the very values of the free world.’ Arsen Avakov, interior minister, called the candidate’s [Crimea] statement the ‘diagnosis of a dangerous marginal.’” — The [uk] Financial Times, 8/28/16
- “Asked by telephone about Mr. Manafort’s activities in Ukraine, [Leshchenko,] … let loose a string of expletives. He accused western media of ‘working in the interests of Hillary Clinton by trying to bring down Trump’ … The majority of Ukraine’s politicians, he added, are ‘on Hillary Clinton’s side.’” — The [uk] Financial Times, 8/28/16
- “Trump’s Comments Send Wrong Message to World.” — then-Ukrainian Amb. Chaly, issuing a sharp pre-election rebuke to Trump in op-ed in The Hill, 8/4/16
- “A lot more coming down the pipe. I spoke to a delegation of 68 investigative journalists from Ukraine last Wednesday at the Library of Congress — the Open World Society’s forum — they put me on the program to speak specifically about Paul Manafort and I invited Michael Isikoff whom I’ve been working with for the past few weeks and connected him to the Ukrainians.” — Alexandra Chalupa, dnc operative, email to then-dnc Communications Director Luis Miranda, released by Wikileaks, 5/3/16. The favor-currying paid off. According to Politico, “Two days before the [Library of Congress] event, [Isikoff] had published a story for Yahoo News revealing the unraveling of a $26 million deal between Manafort and a Russian oligarch related to a telecommunications venture in Ukraine.” And the favors went both ways. On 10/24/16, Isikoff published “16 People Who Shaped the 2016 Election: Alexandra Chalupa,” at Yahoo News.
- “The Prime Minister and I also spoke about energy. An American team is currently in the region working with Ukraine and its neighbors to increase Ukraine’s short-term energy supply.” — then-Vice President Joe Biden, who had recently been named the Obama Regime’s point man in Ukraine, with then-Ukraine Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Obama White House Archives, 4/22/14. As reported by Fox News’ John Solomon, this meeting came eight days after Hunter Biden’s business partner Devon Archer had been named a director at Burisma Holdings (along with John Kerry’s stepson Christopher Heinz). Only 22 days after the meeting, Hunter was named a board member at Burisma Holdings. Starting on May 15, 2014, as reported by John Solomon, “Burisma Holdings makes two equal $83,333.33 payments totaling $166,666.66 to the Morgan Stanley account of Hunter Biden’s and Devon Archer’s firm … Similar payments are made every month for more than a year.” In July 2014, Burisma pays a $250,000 retainer to Boies Schiller, Hunter Biden’s law firm.
Rudy on the Case
- “[Ambassador Marie] Yovanovitch needed to be removed … she was denying visas to Ukrainians who wanted to come to U.S. and explain Dem corruption in Ukraine. She was obstructing justice and that’s not the only thing she was doing. She at minimum enabled Ukrainian collusion.” — Rudy Giuliani, on Twitter, 12/17/19
- “After hundreds of hours & months of research, I have garnered witnesses & documents which reveal the truth behind this impeachment, which includes no wrongdoing by Donald Trump … Evidence revealed that corruption in 2016 was so extensive it was potus’s duty to ask for U.S.-Ukraine investigation. Impeachment is part of Dem coverup. Extortion, bribery & money laundering goes beyond Bidens. Also, dnc collusion w/Ukraine to destroy candidate Trump.” — Rudy Giuliani, on Twitter, 12/15/19
- “Witness Viktor Shokin: Holds doc[uments] proving money laundering by Burisma & Bidens. Fired due to VP Biden’s threat not to release $1B in vital U.S. aid.” — Rudy Giuliani, on Twitter, 12/15/19
- “Witness Yuri Lutsenko, inheritor of Shokin’s office: Records proving Amb. Yovanovitch perjured herself at least twice.” — Rudy Giuliani, on Twitter, 12/15/19
- “There are at least three witnesses who have direct (non-hearsay) evidence of Democrat criminal conspiracy with Ukrainians to prevent Donald J. Trump from being President, with the alternative to remove him from office based on contrived charges … These witnesses have oral, documentary, and recorded evidence of the Biden family’s involvement in bribery, money laundering, Hobbs Act extortion, and other possible crimes … They desire a visa and it will not be granted by Ambassador Bill Taylor’s embassy in Kiev.” — Rudy Giuliani, letter to Sen. Lindsey Graham, 11/22/19
The New York Times reported in March 2016 that during a visit to Ukraine, Vice President Biden declared that “corruption was eating Ukraine like a cancer.” Biden should know. He, his son, and the rest of the Democrat Party are the human carcinogens who metastasized that cancer straight into America.
On 12/15/19, Rep. Adam Schiff complained, “Just this week, Rudy Giuliani went to the White House to brief Trump after his trip to Ukraine. This is an ongoing threat to our democracy.” Wrong. Coming retribution against the sleaze plot involving Ukraine is an ongoing threat to Democrats.
